InnovaPrep Is Using Its Tools To Help During COVID-19
InnovaPrep, a microbiology tech company located in Drexel, Missouri, specializes in the detection of viruses. Founded in 2009 by David Alburty, InnovaPrep creates tools that are fast, elegantly simple, and greatly improve microbial detection for a wide range of bio monitoring applications.
In addition to their microbial tools, InnovaPrep has developed many products to help public agencies monitor for viruses. Since the coronavirus outbreak, the company has seen record breaking sales. They have recently made sales to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the U.S. Department of Defense. China and South Korea have quickly become InnovaPrep’s biggest customers.
InnovaPrep’s technology is able to take samples from the air, filter them and send them through a testing device with speed and efficiency. Results appear on a smart phone within an hour or two.
David Alburty, founder of InnovaPrep says, "We started the company to help make the world a better and safer place for people and animals and we're doing that, so that's very satisfying."
InnovaPrep was an early Missouri Technology Corporation loan recepient (prior to the current co-investment program).
