This year, a St. Louis-based startup will be joining the Techstars Farm to Fork Accelerator. The startup, Applied Particle Technology, has developed wearable technology with an exposure-monitoring system for employees to use in hazardous spaces.

The Techstars Farm to Fork Accelerator, with partners Cargill and Ecolab, focuses on the future of food and agriculture. Through this program, they are looking for founders that want to disrupt the food system from on farm to supply chain to industrial tech to restaurants and retail.

Applied Particle Technology works by first deploying wearable or wireless area monitors to help collect real time data on exposure risks. Then, their cloud engine collects wireless sensor data where they will translate it into useful information. Finally, with Applied Particle Technology, you are able to gain access to real time dashboards which communicate actionable insights to drive improved environmental health and safety outcomes. So far, Applied Particle Technology has appeared in the construction, industrial hygiene, mining, smart city, manufacturing, healthcare, and research industries.
